Title Description
REF No 7014
Purpose It measures the total hardness (Ca and Mg) in water in terms of French hardness. It is also used in waters with low alkalinity.
Ingredients Eriochrome black T, ethanol 96%, etta disodium salt.
Working Principle
Warnings, Precautions, Recommendations Not classified as hazardous according to the Regulation on SEA of Substances or Mixtures (OG 11.12.2013 No: 28848 bis) and Directive 1272&2008 [CLP/GHS](EC).
Application 1) Take the 20 ml measuring transparent container from the set box.
2) Add the water sample to be analyzed up to the 5 ml mark.
3) Add 1 drop from the Total Hardness Test, Titrimetry (GBL Stock Code 457014030050) bottle, holding the dropper spout at a right angle of 90 degrees and mix. Make sure that the drops do not have air bubbles.
4) If a red-pink color appears, continue to add Total Hardness Test Kit, Titrimetric (GBL Stock Code 457014030050) dropwise.
5) Stir after each drop.
6) Continue dripping until the color turns bluish green
7) Stop titration when a bluish green color appears.
Theoretical Results
The number of drops spent gives the total hardness of the water sample.
1 Drop = 1 FS = 0.56 AS
Hardness Presence Pinkish red End Point Bluish green
